technology overload

So this is another one of my crazy weird ideas for a photoshoot in my final book of A2 Photography. I've now covered "strength/growth of humans" (this post here), "strength/growth in nature" (see here or keep scrolling after this post) and so then I decided to show how technology has evolved over time.

For this photoshoot its basically a metaphoric collection of portraits to show how technology has grown, how strong/important it is and how it dominates our everyday lives-  hence why I've chosen to include everyday objects and manipulate them e.g. an apple and headphones. Weird I know. But its fun to have a lil weirdness in a photoshoot sometimes, much to my brother's appreciation who had to do this shoot mwuaha! I'm kinda pleased with the outcome, its different to my usual images but I wouldn't say its close to one of my favourites.

This shoot involved:
-hacking apart an old keyboard with a hair clip
-taking free food from the canteen (I work there, we get free food, most of its gross, 'stole' it for the shoot, fed my hungry model Mark at the same time, two birds one stone)
-plugging a headphone audio jack into various foods
-cutting up a "Now That's What I Call Music 57" CD with scissors. Childhood CD destroyed..
-going a bit loopy in the process

Insta collab @chloelouisehamond. I love that he looks super stupid mwuaha

"Daft Punk - Technologic" (god knows how I used to like this song, but apt lyrics for this post anyhow)
/Name it, rate it, tune it, print it

Scan it, send it, fax rename it
Touch it, bring it, pay it, watch it
Turn it, leave it, start format it

time lapse

I'll keep this post short and sweet. Basically for this shoot it was focused on doing a time lapse of a plant growing over a period of time. Its the first one I've ever tried doing so it's a bit off-aligned at times but it'll do!

sound meets sign language

I'm so in love with this video, song, band, everything. I don't know exactly why I'm so fascinated by this video, possibly because I'm partially deaf myself. I'm so grateful that I can hear as much as I can with my ever-so-flattering hearing aids.. but I've always wondered why I haven't learnt sign language before. (I mean at 'Brownies' I learnt the alphabet, I like to think thats something remotely impressive enough.. no?) In the video the sign language is apparently actually 'American Sign Language' which I didn't even know existed.

Woman's Hour - No Ghost. So perffffffect and relaxing to listen to whilst revising. I say revising, I mean procrastinating/blogging.

The ironic funny thing about me watching this video is that I can't understand/hear/don't actually know what the lyrics are! I've tried googling them but the song is a fairly new release. I've always been terrible at deciphering lyrics from songs, except for the obvious YMCA or Barbie Girl number.

Let me give you an insight.. at the age of 13 when DJ Casper's "Cha Cha Slide" came on at the disco, I'd be launching myself left whilst everybody else was elegantly gliding to the right. Idek how because left and right sound COMPLETELY different.. And I also use to think the lyrics to the Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive" went "ah ha ha ha stabiliiiiiiise, stabiliiiiise, ah ha ha ha, stabiliiiIIIIiiiiIIIIIiiise" as in the stabilisers you get on a bicycle. In all complete honesty.
So if you ever see or (unfortunately for your sake) hear me sing, I've probably overplayed the song so much/googled the lyrics and learnt them/pretending I know all the lyrics when really I just know the first line of the chorus..

If you liked that video, I just found this on Facebook - the story behind this video is amazing! That little boy is what I looked like at the age of 5 with my pink hearing aids haha (I then found out I was allergic to the colour stuff they put it in, boo). Like seriously, compare something like this to Lady Gaga's Poker Face video or something. Wowza

protein smoothie lovin

I'm on week two of Kayla Itsines' training guide and I'm dying a lil bit, I now truly understand the meaning of a worthwhile workout. I got back this morning from the week 2 arms and abs session and decided to make a protein packed smooooooothie. So basically a smoothie with everything that screamed protein at me in my fridge. Within reason. This is a lot nicer than green smoothies (not a huge fan) - it actually just tasted like a normal smoothie/milkshake drink. So I'm uploading my mid morning yumminess and writing the recipe on here just because it's a pretty picture and I haven't blogged in a while.

The reason I captioned my Instagram photo with 'blog post up for any that give a shit' wasn't to attention seek but instead because I have two people who seemingly hate/laugh at my blog so much (and tell me about it frequently) that it was a direct comment for them should they see it lol. I've blocked them from my posts so they'll be hard pushed to find it :) :) :)

La la la back to revision and coursework..

Stuff to bung in your blender and hope for the best:
  • 100 ml unsweetened almond milk (or normal milk is fine)
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 15-20g protein powder (I used Maxitone Strawberry to compliment the blueberries)
  • two large spoonfuls of natural greek yoghurt (Total 0% is the best)
  • half tbsp of maca powder (optional)

This makes one large glass which might be a bit much so I just put half in bottle in the fridge for later. Yum
