Camden Black and White Photo Essay

My second AS Level Photography project. As a class we went to Camden for the day and were left to simply take pictures of what we wanted. As Camden is such an eccentric town, my initial aim was to capture it's personality through my pictures of not just the town itself, but of the people roaming the streets, the patterns plastered on the walls and anything else which vaguely represented the place and my journey throughout the day. I took the photos using my Canon 60D, edited them using Adobe Photoshop CS3 and put them together to produce this photo essay using Windows Movie Maker. Using Photoshop was a lot more fun than I expected and I really enjoyed editing the photos and exploring all the different tools the software has. I chose the song "Most Lonely Face" by The Holloways because the song is in minor key, which is what I specifically wanted for my black and white version. Also the lyrics were easily applicable to many of the photos that I had taken and felt this was effective for the essay. The first line also says "this story's a sad one the sort that you hear..." and I like the fact the band sing a song as if it is a story, and my photo essay develops this story. Please leave any feedback via comments, thank you! :)
